Down Under is proud of our superb collection of durable outdoor coats and dusters. Each garment is hand-tailored, ensuring unsurpassed quality, fit and comfort for many years to come! Styled in Australia and imported from around the world.
|

Similar in look to the Western duster jacket, the Australian Oilskin jacket has been developed over two centuries, from it's humble beginning as the monsoon cape used by the sailors of the great oceans, to the pioneering drovers of today. Continually battling the harsh elements of the Australian Outback, they developed a rugged outback style of clothing to protect them from the cold and drenching rain.
Our Down Under Oilskin jacket fabric is made of a tightly woven cloth that is impregnated with a hot solution of specialized oils and waxes to ensure maximum snow, wind and rain protection. Unlike many synthetics, it has a very natural feel and excellent breathability. Oilskin is your ideal choice when looking for a riding jacket, duster, work jacket or just looking good. Rest assured, Down Under Oilskin jackets will keep you warm and dry!
Please note: When new, oilskin may have some light oil surface residue from the manufacturing process. This is normal and will evaporate over time. If you wish to speed up the process you can use a hair dryer. Oilskin garments can be cleaned by hosing them off and hanging up to dry. Lightly use a damp sponge for spots or heavy dirt. Do not machine wash or dry clean.
