Want to keep your saddle and tack in top notch condition for as long as possible? Then use the best saddle care products available - Joseph Lyddy. Made in Australia, these products are renowned around the world for high quality and ease of use.
Leather saddles and tack should be cleaned and oiled on a regular basis. If the leather dries out it can crack, split and sometimes break. You can use saddle soap to clean your saddle and tack when there is excess dirt that doesn't come off with a damp cloth. We recommend using leather oil, like Joseph Lyddy Leatherphane or Neatsfoot oil, after cleaning due to the fact that saddle soap can dry out the leather. The oil will help condition and restore the natural oils to the leather. You can also use beeswax to seal the moisture in, although this isn't always necessary. If you want to waterproof your saddle, use Joseph Lyddy Dubbin, a non-shine waterproofing treatment. Want a product that does it all? Joseph Lyddy One Stop Oil Treatment softens, conditions, shines, protects and waterproofs all leathers.
For Nubuck leather you can use the same saddle soap and leather oil. After oiling it, we recommend using a brush on the Nubuck to bring the nap back up. Or, you can purchase Nubuck specific products which you should be able to find in the shoe care section at your local store.
Our Synthetic saddles are easy to take care of! Just use a damp cloth to wipe off any dirt and let it air dry!
An additional way to keep your saddle looking new is to use protective merino wool accessories, such as a seat saver or leg comforters. See merino wool accessories
Note: Colors of the products my vary slightly from the photos due to differences in computer monitor displays, dye lot variations, effects of lighting, etc.
