The bull roarer is thin piece of wood with a slight twist in its shape. When swung rapidly in a circular motion the twist in the timber causes a bass singing note. Traditionally, the bull roarer is swung using a long piece of string fashioned from bark, reed or grass. For practical purposes, we include a cotton string. Our bull roarers are made in Australia by Australian Aborigines and are hand painted with a traditional tribal design (designs will vary, as they are all individually painted.
