Terrific Value!
Just thought I would drop you a note on my new saddle.
We trail ride (a lot!) in the Blue Mountains of Washington and Oregon. The Trailmaster saddle was purchased to fit a very flat backed quarter horse gelding, who was acting-up under my high quality western saddle with too narrow a tree. Not only was the saddle uncomfortable for him, but it would drive me nuts as I had to reposition the saddle and pad way too often.
Not only does the Kimberly saddle stay in place, I can get away with using only a crupper. I did away with the breastplate altogether, which I don't like using in the mountains anyway, and since the saddle is so comfortable I can easily ride all day in rough country.
Besides the excellent fit, the saddle also was an excellent value. Why pay the same or more money and get a measly synthetic western saddle when you can get an Aussie leather one that is well made, comfortable, and custom fit to your horse?

A Great Alternative to English and Western
I just wanted to let everyone know at Down Under Saddle Supply that I am VERY pleased with my Kimberly Trailmaster saddle. I have ridden both English and Western for many years, and I can tell you honestly that I have never ridden in such a comfortable, secure saddle. My mare, Najee, seems to like it a great deal, also. Jan was a great help to me in getting just the right fit -- she is very attentive and knowledgeable.
And, by the way, I also love the "Katherine" jacket. I will be more than happy to recommend your saddles/tack/apparel and excellent customer service, and I hope to do more business with your company in the future.

Happy with the Trailmaster
I currently own a Kimberly Trailmaster & love it, but my husband is now using it, so I'm considering another one for myself.....
This is our 16.2 hand draft cross wearing the Kimberly Trailmaster we bought two years ago. Perfect fit for both horse & rider.

Saddle for an Arabian
Thank you!
I wanted to give a big thanks to Lance and Tim, who both assisted me through multiple calls in selecting the Down Under Poley as a saddle that would be well-fitted for my wide and flat-backed Arabian, as well as myself! I was very excited with how well the saddle fit both of us, as I have been searching for several months to find such a thing! I wanted to thank you for the great savings on the Poley as well! Sahir (my horse) and I are both very happy with the fit, and we will now get to proceed with much more riding.
I was also quite impressed with the swiftness of the delivery. The UPS driver even called me on his cell phone to meet up with me for the delivery, as I did not have anyone at the house to sign for it.
Thanks again for all your help and taking the time to consider the wither tracings we sent in.

Riding with the Cowboys
To Lance:
I received my new Superior Poley about two weeks ago. I loved it as soon as I opened the box. Nice quality leather and the utility strap makes it easy to carry.
What I LOVE about this saddle is when I took it on a 6 hour trail ride. Being an inexperienced rider, I rode with some hard riding cowboys. We climbed a steep trail overlooking a point where the hang gliders jump off. The saddle kept me from sliding off the back of the horse and the poleys kept me from being pitched over the horse's head when he went down on his knees. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Also, you were right about not having a horn, I could have been nailed in the chest a few times with a Western saddle horn.
Thanks again,
Karen
Does the Zebra Need a Saddle Too?
Hi Mike- I bought a Down Under saddle for my husband to use on one horse and ended up using on another one. The people at Down Under were exceptional in refitting the saddle for the new mount and my husband was thrilled. He gets lots of compliments on this horse and saddle. I am planning to buy my own saddle as soon as I can manage it. You get such a great saddle for an unbelievable price and customer service to boot!
By the way, you can see our zebra, Zanze, in the background of the photo.

Missouri Fox Trotter
Thank You!
Well I have doen two rides on my Missouri Fox Trotter mare with my new Down Under Stockman saddle and talk about feeling secure......The saddle fits well and I feel very comfortable riding in it. Love the color......love the smaller "poleys" that are behind your thigh that give you a secure feeling like yo won't be leaving your saddle any time soon. I have been looking for quite some time to find exactly what I wanted. Had visited numerous web sites but you guys just seemed to have a better selection and I really did not want a "cheaper" version of an Aussie saddle to begin with. The stuff I saw on Ebay just was so cheap looking and funny looking that I could not even bring myself to even consider one of those even with the better price. I am a firm believer you get what you pay for....especially in the area of saddles.
Please tell Tim thank you for all of his help and getting the saddle to me in just one week. I may have to contact you to get information on getting a few more items for the saddle before we take our long trip in November of this year. So thanks again for all the support and a wonderful saddle. I am very, very happy with my purchase.
Sincerely,
Holly

The Superior Poley Looks Great on an Arabian
Hi there- just wanted to drop you a note and say THANKS! We purchased a Kimberly Superior Poley with horn in April for my Arabian horse Cesar and couldn't be happier. I LOVE the saddle; it is not only extremely comfortable for me and my horse, but also beautiful. In addition, we would like to thank the staff at Down Under, who has been extremely helpful to us on the phone, since we originally didn't quite know what we wanted. Needless to say, we have recommended your company to all of our horse friends.
Thank you again for an excellent product and great service.

Kudos from "Across the Pond"
Hi - just wanted to say thank you to your company and to your UK distributor for sorting out my new Kimberley Trailmaster saddle for my mule Muriel. As you can see, it fits her well and I am looking forward to a couple of years use. Only a couple of years as Muriel is only four and a half - she stands in at 16 hands at the moment so another 1 to 2 years growing to do. But rest assured it will be another saddle from yourselves that she gets.
Many Thanks,
Paul

Kimberley Stock Saddle is a Hit
I just had to drop you a note and thank you for the excellent service you provided in sending my new Kimberley Stock saddle. I was amazed how fast I received it. I sure did not expect it to arrive in just a couple of days.
Also, the saddle fits my gelding perfectly, even though I did not send you a wither tracing. Your expertise certainly shows.
I have been riding for over 43 years, and have never sat in a saddle as comfortable and secure feeling as the Australian (this is my first one). I'm hooked! I have only had my saddle for about a week, and already I cannot see myself going back to a Western saddle. It is very comfortable for both me and my horse.
A family member of mine said I was going to really start something around here with this saddle. We know of no one else here that has one. If it does start a trend, I will certainly recommend your company for all their needs.

Kimberley Lite Rider
Hi
I wanted to write a brief note to let you know how much I LOVE my new Kimberley Lite Rider saddle! I used it on a 2 hour trail ride yesterday, and find it to be the most comfortable saddle I have ever owned. It fits my horse very well - there was a visible difference in his behavior!
I have also been incredibly impressed with everyone I have spoken to at Down Under Saddle Supply Inc. You have been very helpful in getting the right saddle for both me and my horse, and even graciously exchanged a girth that was too small. It seems as if customer service is no longer a priority with many companies, but you are a shining example of one that still embraces the art!
I have had many nice compliments on my new saddle, and have informed each person where it was purchased. I hope it results in some sales for you!
Sincerely,
Terry

Longreach on a Tennessee Walker
Dear All You Folks at Down Under:
Thank you for my Longreach endurance Saddle! I received it a couple of months ago and have been usiung it on my Tennessee Walker mare. Thank you so much, especially Tim, who wouldn't let me talk myself out of a breastplate... I understand now why it is so important. After 19 years of not riding, and at 64 years of age, I feel very secure in my new saddle. My mare is very energetic but not "bad" (i.e. no bucking, rearing, etc.). She does shy a bit (she's only six years old and hasn't been out and about very much), but I don't mind because of the saddle. Thank you again for your help and support.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you! Here's to happy riding in 2008!

P.S. My farrier and a good friend both rode my mare in the Longreach the first day I had it on her. The idea was to try out a Tennessee Walker, which neither had ever ridden. Instead of commenting on the horse, both riders couldn't stop talking about the saddle!! They loved its looks and its wonderful comfort. Thanks again! |

Quality Coats
Dear Down Under:
Just received my Tasman Drover & Oilskin 3/4 Drover coats. The are everything I expected them to be. The quality is the best I've seen. I ordered them each in black. I will be back soon to get each one in brown. My congratulations on offering such high quality clothing.

A New Customer
Dear Jan:
I wanted to let you kno whow much I enjoy my Campdraft Special saddle. I've had it five years now and I only wish I had bought an Aussie saddle years ago. My Western saddle was making my Arabian's back sore on long rides even though it had an Arabian tree, and my knees would hurt after a couple of hours riding. With the Campdraft Special my horse is happy, my knees don't hurt, and I feel much more secure in the saddle (I'm 70 years old now).
Many people try my saddle and several have bought saddles from Down Under Saddle Supply because it is so comfortable. Please send me another catalog since I keep giving mine away.

Five Years and Still Happy
Hello, just have to tell you guys what happened last week. Three of us were out trail riding when we went through a small ravine which happened to be infested with either yellow jackets or ground hornets. We didn't stop to find out exactly what they were. Anyway, the first horse went through unscathed, then my horse began rearing, bolting and bucking. Turning sideways and almost upside down! I can't believe it but I did NOT come off.
My friend's horse was just behind me doing the same and she was off in about 2 seconds. I really believe that if I had been riding any other saddle I would have been on the ground and it would have been a hard fall!
I'm a believer!

Aussie Saddle on a BIG Horse!
Dear Jan:
Thank you so much for sending me the Kimberley Stock Saddle. The saddle is perfect and my lesson students love it. One of my younger students said it was a "sweet ride". I truly appreciate the great service. I highly recommend your products to anyone who asks me about my saddle. I thought that you would enjoy seeing the saddle on Mickey.
Mickey is such a tough horse to fit a saddle to due to size (18.3 hands and weighs 2,281 pounds). I was very particular in that I needed a light, black, Aussie saddle. I needed a light saddle because I’m lifting it six feet and three inches into the air on Mickey’s back (18.3 hands). I also needed a black saddle because the rest of Mickey’s tack (bridle, halter, breast collar, and girth) is all black. And most of all I needed an Aussie saddle to put on my young Belgian gelding who loves to buck at the canter in the beginning (the poleys have kept me in the saddle numerous times). That’s why I first ended up buying both your Longreach Endurance and your Kimberely Light Rider years ago. I’ve been using Mickey in lessons now for about a year. I decided to buy another saddle from your company just for lessons. I feel that the Aussie saddle is the most durable and practical. It has the depth and security of a Western saddle and the room and flexibility of an English saddle (I can easily jump in them). I also love the comfort of the seat itself. I’ve ridden in all of my saddles for over three hours and my seat never hurts. The best benefit of all though is that the saddle fits my huge horse and he’s very comfortable in them. That’s the best of all.......a happy, comfortable horse.
Good luck with sales and thanks so much for your time and great service.

Great Fit
Hi!
Just wanted to drop a note to you regarding my saddle since you adjusted it for me. It fits my mare perfectly and I just can't say enough about the comfort that I am enjoying in this saddle.
It stays in place as only an Aussie can do, and when I take the saddle off after a ride, especially a long ride, there is not a saddle mark on the horse, as I see with so many other saddle types.
Thank you for your quick response in adjusting and sending my saddle back and thank you for such a wonderful product.

A Professional Opinion
Dear Jan:
My Australian saddle was great - I was able to get into places after cows you would not be able to do in a Western saddle. I have tried before in years past on different cattle drives. And best of all I was not near as tired as everybody else! Today was 11 hours long. I make my living out of a saddle - I wish I would never have gotten away from Australian saddles. Now that I have another one I will never switch back to Western tack or saddles. You have a customer for life with me.

Great Fit
Tim - thanks so much for all the help with ordering my Kimberley Poley - it fits my TWH perfectly! With only a few short rides in it, I went on a 3 hour ride in it and it was very comfortable for me and my horse - fits him like a custom saddle; perfect sweat pattern. He steps out further and feels more relaxed than with his old western saddle or a BM treeless I tried on him. Once I get my pony in shape, I will be ordering the child's saddle for my kids so we can step up the riding this summer. This will replace the western and English saddles they are currently using. I love it! I also had so many compliments on the look of the saddle on my horse! I'll be back in a couple of months....

Exceptional Saddle
Dear Down Under:
I've had my new Down Under Wizzard Poley for a couple of weeks now. I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with it. I want to especially thank Lance for spending a considerable amount of time on the telephone with me, answering my questions and helping me choose the saddle that would best fit my horse. The quality of the saddle is exceptional, the customer service, second to none. Thanks again for a great saddle.

Dear Down Under:
Last week I received my Drover coat from your company. It is everything I had hoped for and wanted. I just love love it. First Rate Operation
Dear Down Under:
Over the past four months I have purchased and exchanged saddles and tack with much interaction with your expert staff, particularly but not limited to Tim and Lance. My experience with Down Under Saddle Supply has been exceptional. I now have a beautiful Toowoomba collection including a Polocrosse Elite saddle, breastplate, saddle bag, and the contoured ultimate saddle pad that not only looks spectacular on my 16h bey quarter horse but exceeds my critical expectation for quality of materials and workmanship. Your operation is first rate. Thank you all.

Happy Trails
Dear Down Under Saddle Supply:
I recently purchased a Kimberley Trailmaster with horn. I am extremely pleased with the quality materials and workmanship on this saddle! For the price this was an excellent bargain. I finally had a chance to go on a trail ride in my new saddle and I found it was very comfortable. The poleys were absolutely awesome on steep hills. I have never felt so secure in my saddle.
I appreciate the prompt and knowledgeable customer service I received while deciding on which saddle and size to purchase. My 3 year old draft cross fits nicely in this saddle with room to grow which is exactly what I wanted. And I was able to fit my saddle on a full grown 17 hand quarter horse for trail riding.
...I will definitely come to Down Under Saddle Supply in the future!
Thanks!

Fitment Over the Phone
Dear Folks:
I ordered a saddle one week ago and it arrived on Friday in time for a weekend of riding. I got the Kimberley Trailmaster, and I am very happy with it. You were very helpful with advice on fitting and outfitting on the phone.
I want to thank you and your staff for being so helpful and supplying me with a great saddle. Jamboree Mirage and I thank you!

The "Faux-Fresian"
Dear Down Under:
The SAD320 (Snowy River Legend) fits perfectly. I rode all weekend, everywhere with it, and both the horse and I are comfortable. It feels soft and broken in, yet the leather quality is amazing and sturdy. Good contact like an English saddle, and secure for controlling and gripping a large horse. He is just a black Percheron but everybody thinks he is a Fresian - I call him my faux-fresian.

| Gaited Horses
Dear Mike and Jan
I bought a Kimberley from a dealership in Salt Lake City about two years ago but it was your follow up and help that has me totally sold. You have an awesome saddle that is second to none. I ride gaited horses and the Kimberley puts me where I need to be on the horses back so I can get the full benefit of their smooth ground covering stride. Usually the first saddle that my colts feel on their back is my Kimberley.
Not only do the young horses get to feel my aussie saddle but my niece thinks it is great also. Thanks so much ...

Oilskin Coat
I just wanted to write you all about your oilskin drover. I just got it the other day - it came quickly which was great!!! When I pulled it out of the box I couldn't wait. I have been using it ever since - this is the best coat I've ever bought. It's warm and very waterproof - I love it!!! I plan on using you guys in the future for other coat purchases. Thank you.

Enjoyable Experience!
Dear Mike
Last Friday I received my saddle, a Kimberley Series Poley, along with other items. I want to say that dealing with Down Under Saddle Supply through Lance and Tim via email and phone calls has been one of the most enjoyable experiences I have ever had! All my questions were answered promptly, intelligently, and most of all, courteously. What I may have missed asking about was covered by the DVD - in itself a nice piece of work! ...

Great Aussie Experience
Dear Down Under
I'd just like to express my thanks for the wonderful service I received from Down Under. From the ordering to the arrival of the saddle, everything was perfect and timely. Even the speed of the response with the upgrade to the girth went without a hitch. The saddle arrived and fit beautifully. I could not be more pleased with the product. It looks absolutely stunning on my mare and it is definitely the envy of a lot of riders at our barn.
If anyone is looking for a saddle, I would highly recommend the "Aussie" experience and would not hesitate to recommend Down Under as the saddle shop of preference. Thanks to everyone at Down Under for the wonderful experience.

Customer Service
Hello Mark, Lance, Tim, and Jan
I just wanted to say "thank you". You all provide the best customer service I've experienced anywhere. It's a rare thing to have people so willing to help and try to find solutions. I have been really happy with my Kimberley Stock saddle but it no longer fits my horse since he's changed shape. You all offered to work on tree adjustments and/or help me find an upgraded model which I am interested in getting for him. Working with Down Under has been a great experience and I will continue to do business with you and to recommend your company to others. First class all the way!

Aussie Saddles -- We Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way ...
Dear Down Under,
I called to let you all know how happy we are with our latest saddle purchases and wanted to send photos of the horses with their tack. The first saddle we purchased from you was for a 17-hand Saddle bred mare (Dallas) who had back problems. She was swayback and Western saddles tended to bridge across her back. I sent you the wither tracing and purchased a Kimberley Poley that fit her great. The more we rode with it, the better it got. The chestnut mare in the picture is Cheyanne. The Western saddles I had pinched her withers so I bought her the Kimberley Trailmaster. The saddle fits her Quarter Horse build great and the saddle is super comfortable for the rider. My husband had a cheap mail order copy at one time and hated it, so he was very skeptical when I told him I was buying a Kimberley Aussie saddle for him and the horse. After riding your Kimberley Trailmaster saddle only one time, he totally loved it! The Palomino Paint gelding is Stetson. He is my best friend's first horse. When she wanted to buy a saddle, I urged her to look at my Kimberley Poley. I told her I knew the quality of saddles your company offers would be much better than anything else she was looking at because you knew Aussie saddles and those other mail order catalog Companies didn't. She bought the saddle and has been thrilled with it ever since. When we talk to other horse people, they always ask, "Do you ride English or Western? "We proudly tell them all our tack is Aussie and we wouldn't have it any other way".

Personal Service
To everyone at Down Under:
I received my repaired saddle yesterday, properly repaired and in good condition, as promised. Thank you for handling my request so promptly. In my profession, I deal with a lot of vendors and suppliers via phone or e-mail, and sometimes have been frustrated with the level of service I receive. However, your company has been a real pleasue to deal with, from excellent recommendations in my tack purchase to prompt service when I needed a repair, your staff has been wonderful.
It is hard to do business halfway across the country, and feel like you have "personal service". I am happy to say that yo have continued to provide a personal feel, and I would be pleased to recommend Down Under to anyone!

The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread.....
Dear Down Under:
A couple of months ago, I purchased your Down Under Longreach Endurance saddle for my 16h draft cross mare. She has very high withers and wide shoulder area, so it has been hard to find a saddle that fit her comfortably. I sent you a wither tracing, you sent the saddle. I have never been happier and neither has Maggie. She is very green, and out on the trail I have never felt more safe and secure in a saddle. Plus it's light enough for me, at 5'1" and 55 years old, to handle. I sing its praises to anyone who asks, and some that don't! I hope my honest excitement for your saddles shows through enough to convince someone else to try them. They are the best thing since sliced bread for the trails here in Maine - really, no matter where you live.

Endurance Rider, English Style....
I just wanted to say Thank-You for helping me find a great saddle for my endurance horse. We've done pretty good so far in it, and the best part is NO sore back or rubs - yippie! We are going to Tevis in 3 weeks for the 100 mile ride from South Tahoe to Auburn, and I know that my prior saddle wouldn't ave held up to that challenge!
Thanks again for offering a great saddle at such a reasonable price. I'm definitely buying all my saddles from your company from now on. Also, a huge thanks to Lance for his help with the wither trace and for answering my saddle questions. You all are wonderful!
Renee and Nyte F.
Happy Trails!
