Al Ragusin Launches New Website September 2011
World famous horse trainer and performer Al Ragusin has launched a new, completely revamped website dedicated to helping you train your own horse. As you may know, Al has exclusively used Down Under Series saddles in both his training progam and his dancing horse show for over 10 years.
His new site has loads of free information about horse training, horse behaviour, and equipment. There are articles and videos that we are sure you'll find fascinating.
Sized right for kids with a 13 inch seat, this new synthetic saddle is modeled after our popular Kimberley Synthetic Endurance Saddle. A sturdy wood/steel tree along with easy care synthetic material makes this saddle ready for the trail. Comes with leathers, polymer stirrups, and a neoprene girth. No overgirth is needed because the double billet system uses a dressage style girth. Easy on your budget, too!
Rossi Boots are an Australian icon. Since 1910, Rossi Boots has been producing super tough, super comfortable boots in Australia.
We have a full range of Rossi boots in a huge assortment of sizes. If you need boots that can stand up to very rough conditions, but still need to be comfortable all day, check out our Rossi Boots.
View our Saddles in 360 Degrees! March 2011
All of our Kimberley Series and Down Under Series saddles can now be viewed from all angles. Just click on any image on the Kimberley Series or Down Under Collection web page and a new window will open with 360 views (in both black and brown, if two colors of the saddle are available). The 360 images will take up to 30 seconds to load, but be patient - it will be worth it.
To rotate the image, click and hold your left mouse button over the image and move it back and forth. Now you'll be able to see the front, the back, the panels - everything. This new feature will allow you to better see the quality of our saddles and to see how each model might fit on your horse.

Akubra Hats February 2011
When most people in the U.S. think of Australian hats, it's Akubra that comes to mind. Made famous here in the movie "The Man from Snowy River", Akubra has been an icon in Australia since 1874. Top quality water resistant fur felt, a soft leather brow band, and a satin lining will make Akubra your "go to" hat for work or play.
Here are some great new boot styles from EMU Australia! EMU changes their styles every season, so if you see something you like, act quick - it might not be available next season. The Tamika is a shearling boot while the El Rancho and Akala are nappa sheepskin boots.
EMU Australia makes more than just great boots! Their womens leather jackets, vests, gloves, and ear muffs are also made of the highest quality Australian sheepskins. The nappa leather jackets are super soft, light weight and packed with features. Click on the photos below to take a look!
We have two new members to the Down Under Oilskin family. Both are made from heavy duty 12 ounce oilskin - impervious to rain, snow, and wind. First is the Oilskin Bomber Jacket. Classic bomber jacket styling with leather collar, knit sleeves and waist, and a stylish silk-screen logo. The second is the Oilskin Field Vest. Loads of pockets and snap epaulettes to carry all your gear. Great for hunting, photography, fishing, or travel. Perfect to wear under an oilskin coat or jacket.

Syd Hill & Sons Ceases Australian Production July 2010
We just received notification that Syd Hill & Sons will cease Australian production after almost 150 years of making some of the best Australian saddles available. This is very sad because the quality, comfort, and durability of Syd Hill saddles is legendary.
If you have ever wanted a Syd Hill saddle, now is the time to act because once our inventory is gone, there are no more. We currently have the largest supply of Syd Hill saddles in the world, so check out what we have on hand to see if your dream saddle is still here. We have a good selection of Bushmasters, Northern Barcoos, Steve Bradys, Boree Poleys, and many other styles.
This change affects only Syd Hill saddles. Our own Kimberley and Down Under Series saddles will still be available, as will Syd Hill's synthetic saddles. Aslo, we will still have our line of fine Towoomba Saddlery saddles to please those customers who are looking for the very best Australian made saddles.
Just in time for summer, here are some great hats to keep you cool and protected from the sun. And if you need protection from the sun, why not do it in style?
Also, we are proud to announce that we are adding BC Hats to our selection. Bill Conner created Australia's original leather hat. His design and construction method are now recognized world wide. BC Hats were born and bred in rugged Australian conditions, created out of necessity for a durable hat able to withstand the rigors of the harsh and diverse Australian climate. Today, BC Hats is still a family owned company dedicated to quality, service, and original Australian hats. BC Hats are crafted by hand, in Australia.

Aussie Saddles Work Great on Donkeys!
Marna Kazmaier writes for a number of equestrian related blogs and wanted to know how well Australian style saddles work with donkeys. Since we have many customers who use their Aussie saddle on a donkey, we provided a Kimberley Superior saddle for Marna to do a full product review. As we expected, donkeys and Australian style saddles make a great match.
Note: Colors of the products my vary slightly from the photos due to differences in computer monitor displays, dye lot variations, effects of lighting, etc.
