How to Take Fitment Photos of Your Horse if You Are Buying a New Saddle
Photos are a great tool that can help our experienced saddle fitters ensure that you get a saddle that is perfect for both you and your horse. We only need four photos. But the truth is, we love horses and if you send more we won't complain! Also, fitment photos are not enough all by themselves for our saddle fitters to make sure you have an optimal fit. Please read our fitment page to make sure you are sending us everything we need!
Photos 1 & 2: Side photos. Take photos of your horse from the side, with its head up, its feet on level ground, and with no saddle or pad. Take one from each side like this one:
Photos 3 & 4: Quarter angle photos. Take close ups of your horses back (showing the area where the saddle will sit) taken from a 45 degree angle. Again, be sure your horse's head is up, its feet are on level ground, and with no saddle or pad. Take one from each side like this one:
Of course, you can also submit any additional photos that you feel might be helpful. Photos are best when well lit, in focus, and of sufficient size to allow our saddle fitters to see the details of your horse's topography. 700 pixels on the long side is a minimum. Email your photos to: firstname.lastname@example.org Most email systems limit total attachment size to 10mb or less. If you want to send multiple large images just split them into multiple emails.
If you are taking photos with a cellular phone, most phones will allow you to send them via the "text" app to an email address. Simply enter our email address into the "to" field on the text screen where you would normally enter the destination phone number. Please be sure to include your name and phone number with your photos so we can tie them to you and make sure we fit your saddle to your horse. If you are sending photos of multiple horses, please make sure to include the horses name with the photo so we know which of your horses the photo references.
