Muster Master Deluxe Australian Saddle

SAD 800

One of our most popular saddles, the Muster Master Deluxe raised the bar for mid-priced excellence. It features top grade Australian tanned leather, a web suspended seat, genuine merino sheepskin lining, and an adjustable tree built with wood and aluminum. The saddles come in a two-tone brown or all black. The optional horn is angled forward to stay out of the way during an uphill rush or everyday trail riding. The girthing system is in-skirt C-rigging, which provides even pressure on the front and back of the horse when the saddle fits correctly. The knee pads are 3.5 inches, the seat is 5 inches, and the weight is 26 pounds in a standard seat size. Opting for a horn adds $100 to the price.

This saddle comes with western style fenders, nylon off-side strap, on-side tackaberry buckle with nylon strap, standard western stirrups (STIR 970), and a neoprene cinch.

Weight: without fittings approximately 26 lbs
(larger seat sizes will weigh slightly more)
Seat Depth: 5", Kneepads: 3.5"
Panel Type: Sheepskin

Muster Master

Posted by Ron on Nov 1st 2018

I've owned my Muster Master for about 9 years now. I first came across these saddles at a trade show where I must have sat in every make and type of western saddle imaginable. This saddle was far and away the most comfortable, and I knew I needed to get an Aussie.

I tried to get away cheap by ordering a less expensive saddle from another company which I don't even believe is in business anymore. Pictures of Aussie saddles on the internet may look similar, but believe me, the cheap versions are junk. I returned that saddle after just one ride and then ordered myself a Muster Master. I've never regretted spending the additional money. I can't imagine a better saddle than this short of perhaps a Syd Hill or other Australian-made piece.

The leather is high quality and soft, especially after years of oiling, and I can ride all day long. Every western saddle I've tried was either too hard, too soft (gel saddles), or had pressure points that got really annoying on a long ride. The web suspended seats on these saddles are incredible. Do yourself a favor a try one, even if that means giving up your traditional western saddle that everyone else rides in because...well...just because they are a western saddle and that's what everybody else does.

After several years I even convinced my wife that she should try one. I got her a Fox Poley, which is the same saddle as this one, but without the Merino fleecing and slightly less quality leather (hence the price difference). She absolutely loves it and wishes she would have gotten hers sooner.
